the code seems very very general - to the point of being self evident. With the possible exception of the Professional Practice section it could almost be read as guide to life in general and there seems little to distinguish the expectations placed on a professional architect from those that might be placed upon a lay person. I wonder if it should be a little braver and more confident of our (rightly expected to be) higher levels of understanding and expertise in matters of judgement, analysis, synthesis and negotiation in the built environment. Architects cannot expect to maintain any leading, influential or well-rewarded role in the industry unless they are prepared to commit - to stand up and be counted.
