The introduction of a CPD scheme duplicates that required by the RIBA.
As an Architect, my competency is checked all year round by the Local Authorities, Heritage Consultants, Ecologists, Building Control Inspectors, Structural Engineers, SAP assessors, colleagues, clients; the list goes on.

If you would like to explain the reason for your response, please do so here:
This approach means that those using the service are paying for it, rather than it being added to the annual retention fee which would unfairly share the cost across all registered architects.
This should be done with all processes which relate to a specific individual.
Money raised from misuse of title and architect disciplinary fines should be pumped back into the ARB and not the HMRC. This work shouldn't be funded by the members of the register.

16. Do you have any other comments about the proposed rules?
Please write your comments in the box below:
I resent the fact that as someone who spent over 7 years studying and qualifying that I am at the mercy of the ARB fee structure for which I receive no gain. The qualifications I have achieved and the work I carry out, should be what defines me as an Architect and not my ability to fork out for an ARB membership. The significant fee increases every year are unjustifiable and along with all the cost-of-living crisis will ultimately lead to people leaving the register and calling themselves something else.
